Description

Batesiella is a genus of African tarantulas consisting of only one species, Batesiella crinita. This genus and its sole species were initially identified by Reginald Innes Pocock in 1903. It is indigenous to Cameroon. The genus name "Batesiella" pays tribute to the collector G. L. Bates. Between the years 1985 to 1990, it was merged with the genus Encyocrates.
