Description

Megaphobema teceae is a species of tarantula found in Brazil's Juruti River Plateau. It belongs to the genus Megaphobema, which was first described in 1901 by Reginald Innes Pocock. Megaphobema tarantulas have three pairs of legs that are larger and stronger than the first two pairs, and they look similar to Pamphobeteus spiders except for their legs. Megaphobema teceae differs from the other four species in the genus by the presence of a noticeable post-ocular process.
