Description

Lyrognathus fuscus is a species of theraphosid spider in the genus Lyrognathus that is found in Borneo. The scientific name for the species was first published in 2010 by West and Nunn. Lyrognathus are large tarantulas that are grey or black in color. They have thick dense brushes of setae along the fourth tibia and metatarsi, and the fourth coxa has an entirely hirsute retrolateral surface. Lyrognathus fuscus is also known as the "Borneo Black Velvet Earth Tiger".
